SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Authorities are identifying a man killed in an apparent murder-suicide as a former Salisbury University student.

Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis says the man killed Tuesday by the shooter was Charles Abbott of Hebron. Authorities are not identifying a female university student wounded in the shooting or the male shooter, who turned the gun on himself and died. Investigators believe the shooting was an incident of domestic violence.

The shootings occurred around 6 p.m. at a home in a Salisbury neighborhood where many students live. Lewis says the male shooter, who is not thought to be a student, was found dead inside the house, and Abbott was pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Lewis says the injured woman is being treated at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
