First Revenue Forecast Revision of the Year for Delaware

Don Rush

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - The panel that sets Delaware's official revenue forecast is meeting for the first time this year to update its projections.

Monday's meeting of the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council follows a series of agency budget hearings over the past several weeks by the legislature's budget writing committee.

The full General Assembly reconvenes Tuesday after taking time off for the budget committee hearings.

In its most recent meeting in December, DEFAC downgraded its estimate for the current year by about $17 million and announced the establishment of a task force to conduct a structural review of Delaware's current revenues.

The panel's December revenue estimate for fiscal 2016, which starts July 1, was basically flat, at $3.88 billion, down from about $3.93 billion for the current year.
