Firefly Music Festival Will Return

The Firefly Music Festival drawing more than 65-thousand people last weekend will be back next year.

Red Frog Events which managed the event said that the turnout was enough for a return engagement.

Festival Director Greg Bostrom told the Wilmington News Journal that the fans showed great enthusiasm adding that his organization was pleased to continue its relationship with the Dover International Speeedway and the surrounding community.

Meanwhile, Delaware’s Director of Tourism Linda Parkowski said that the local businesses took in as much as $23 million.

She estimated that the average visitor spent around $564 for the trip with $382 going to the people of Delaware.

Dover Police Chief James Hosfelt told the paper that the event went smoothly.

He said there were 76 complaints mostly for disorderly conduct and a few fights.
