Firefly Music Festival is Open for Business

Firefly Music Festival website

The Firefly Music Festival is underway.

The gates opened at 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon after a week of heavy rains that hit the Woodlands area near Dover International Speedway.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that this is not the first time there has been wet weather for the festival with an evacuation last year of the Woodlands during the Saturday night performance.

This year organizers installed large catch basins and mulch on the walkway has been replaced by gravel and rocks.

Tonight the Kings of Leon will return to the stage.

Florence + The Machine will perform on Saturday and Mumford & Sons will headline on Sunday.
