Fighting Housing Blight in Salisbury

biopic

Salisbury is moving to eliminate the housing blight that has been in issue for year.

The city council agreed to back part of an initiative by Mayor Jim Ireton that would add over $37-thousand to next year’s city budget to buy homes being sold at a tax sale.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the city Vacant Homes Registry has 187 homes on its list.

The city is in the process of evaluating a $645 million plan to improve its infrastructure over the next 20 years.
