The Department of Homeland Security has authorized another 15-thousand H-2B visas which have become important for the seasonal work on Delmarva.

During a stop in Worcester County on Monday Representative Andy Harris (R-MD) said that he felt the Department should not have waited this long to approve them.

The Eastern Shore Republican told WBOC that he had been working with the administration for weeks to get the okay as well as creating rules and regulations in place for the new visas.

Lindy’s Seafood in Woolford told the television station that it is operating at 25 percent of their normal capacity because of the limited number of workers that they have.

Harris said that there is still no word on how many of those visas will be allotted to the Eastern Shore.
