Fake Money on UMES Student ID Cards

University of Maryland Eastern Shore

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) - The Maryland Attorney General's Office says it is investigating possible misuse of student ID cards at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

David Nitkin, a spokesman for the AG's office, says officials are looking into reports of fake money being added to student ID cards at UMES, then being redeemed for real cash.

It's unclear how many people or how much money might be involved.

WBOC-TV reports that UMES officials issued a statement saying the school has referred the matter to state authorities for investigation but is unable to comment further.
