Electric Coop's Urge Customers to Curb Use This Afternoon

Don Rush

The Delaware Electric Cooperative and the Choptank Electric Cooperative are urging members to voluntarily reduce their energy consumption between 3 and 6 this afternoon.

With the high temperatures the utilities want people to turn off all unnecessary lights and appliances during that time.

In addition, they are recommending that members adjust their thermostats a few degrees higher during that time.

The utilities say this will reduce the cost of electricity since during these high use periods the price of electricity goes up substantially.
