Electric Coops Ask Members to Conserve Energy

all-free-download.com

The Delaware Electric Cooperative and the Choptank Electric Cooperative would like their customers to voluntarily limit their energy use this afternoon.

Because the temperatures are expected to reach 85 degrees many members turn up the air conditioning when they get home causing the co-ops to buy power at premium prices.

These would be passed onto the customer.

Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. today the co-ops want their members to turn off all unnecessary appliances.

They are also asking their members to delay usage of such major appliances as dishwashers, washing machines and clothes dryers.
