ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. (AP) - A Charles County businessman and Marine Corps Reserve officer is launching his campaign for Maryland governor.

Charles Lollar, who is seeking the Republican nomination, is setting off on a statewide bus tour from St. Mary's County on Tuesday to announce his candidacy.

Lollar is also planning a "money bomb" push for donations on Thursday, asking all supporters to make a contribution of any size on that day.

Lollar, who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2010, joins two other Republican candidates hoping to replace Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley. Harford County Executive David Craig and Anne Arundel County Del. Ron George have already announced their bids for the GOP primary.
