Dupont Retirees Face Changes in Medical Expense Compensation

health care, 123rf.com

Changes are coming to DuPont retirees on Medicare.

And, 10,000 of them are located in Delaware.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that for decades the Wilmington based chemical company provided coverage for 20 percent of medical expenses not picked up by Medicare.

Now, the company is terminating its group plans this year but will help retirees choose individual plans with a $1400 cash payment.

DuPont has hired the benefits management company Extend Health to put together a set of replacement plans and offer assistance to retirees for selecting a plan.

But there are questions for retirees like the cost of the plans as well as getting a good understanding of just what is being offered.
