DSU Gets Praise from Feds for Energy Efficiency Program

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware State University's effort to improve energy efficiency on campus is winning praise from the federal energy secretary.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu joined Gov. Jack Markell and members of Delaware congressional delegation on Monday to get an update on DSU's progress under the National Better Buildings Challenge, an energy efficiency initiative.

Delaware State University is investing about $19 million in energy efficiency projects that officials say will result in a guaranteed net savings at least $5 million in energy costs over the next 20 years.
