Drug Take Back Day Tomorrow

creative commons

Tomorrow is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Maryland State Police in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the state police barracks to receive the drugs.

The goal of the program is to give people a chance to dispose of their prescription drugs safely.

Maryland has seen an increasing rate of drug addiction and overdoses that stems from prescriptions and many times ends up with heroin use.

The Take Back program is also seen as a way to teach people about the problems that can result from abuse of medications.
