Dreamers: Seeking Economic Opportunity

CIA

With the presidential election playing out its final weeks, those who call themselves Dreamers are watching and waiting to know what their fate may be. These are the undocumented immigrants who came to this country as children and have been able to come out of the shadows with President Obama's executive order that has allowed them to stay temporarily in the country. In our final segment, Delmarva Public Radio's Don Rush talked with a Dreamer whose family came from Mexico to seek a better life for their son. Charito Calvachi-Mateyko provided production and translation assistance for this story.

Don Rush is the News Director and Senior Producer of News and Public Affairs at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
