Delmarva Public Radio is proud to be the recipient of a grant through the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Small Grants Program . The grant of $1,500 will help Delmarva Public Radio to purchase a much needed piece of equipment from Enco Systems; the iDad and Interchange.
The iDad application allows our news reporters to remotely record, label, and send audio from a mobile device back to the Delmarva Public Radio Studios at Salisbury University. While the single Interchange computer will securely receive and decode the audio, DPR can download as many free iDad applications for iPhones, iPads or Android devices as needed.
Purchasing an Enco Interchange unit will allow Salisbury University student interns as well as staff to do field recordings and get “sound bites” from news makers in our area without having to wait until one of a limited numbers of digital recorders becomes available. This will provide an opportunity for interns to learn the basics of news gathering while providing greater access to local events.
Delmarva Public Radio wishes to thank the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for their continued support for public radio and the Delmarva Community. For more information on grant opportunities through the Community Foundation, please visit www.cfes.org.
