Dover Police Takeover Probe Into Taser Incident in Rehoboth Beach

youtube.com

The Dover police are looking into claims by 34 year old Jeremy Anderson who says he was shocked with a Taser a number of times by Rehoboth Beach police.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that a April 7th video shows Corporal Tyler Whitman using a Taser on the man several times and then kicking him in the head twice while two other officers handcuffed him.

The video was shot by Anderson’s wife and is now on youtube.com.

Whitman is on administrative leave with pay.

Rehoboth Police Chief Keith Banks said yesterday that he is avoiding any conflict of interest in having the Dover authorities investigate the incident.

The paper reports that Anderson pleaded guilty last Thursday to felony resisting arrest and a misdemeanor menacing charge.

He was sentenced to one year probation and paid $319 in fines and court costs.
