Dewey Beach contractor Mary Dunmyer has quit in the wake of the investigation into a conflict of interest complaint against Town Manager Marc Appelbaum.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that news of her resignation came from her husband Town Commissioner Mark Dunmyer.

The paper reports that she worked as project director which was under the town manager.

The complaint filed by two Dewey Beach residents charge that there is a conflict of interest for Commissioner Dunmyer when dealing with the investigation into Appelbaum.

They note that his Dunmyer’s wife’s income was dependent on Appelbaum.

Commissioner Dunmyer told the News Journal there is no conflict of interest adding that he had notified city officials that he would recuse himself from the investigation.
