GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Some Maryland candidates for local and state offices joined an immigration advocacy group to protest a county correctional center housing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees.

The Capital of Annapolis reports Democratic gubernatorial candidates Krish Vignarajah and Ben Jealous, along with Anne Arundel County executive candidate Steuart Pittman, joined the Friday vigil in Glen Burnie.

The candidates and activists denounced the Trump administration's immigration policies and promised to end detention agreements in several Maryland counties.

The vigil was hosted by the advocacy group Casa de Maryland at the Ordnance Road Correctional Center, where 114 detainees were being held Friday. Congressmen who have visited the facility say at least two of the detainees were separated from their children at the U.S.-Mexican border.
