Delmarva Recovers from Snow Storm

Delmarvans began digging themselves out of this week’s snow storm.

In Salisbury stretching down to Snow Hill residents saw as much as 8 inches of the white stuff.

Ocean city saw 7 inches.

The Crisfield and Parsonsburg and Laurel areas saw around 6 inches.

And, up in Lewes and Bethany Beach there was 5 inches of snow.

The snow fall ended around mid-morning when motorists stopped by a local gas station in Salisbury:

Below freezing temperatures and snow-covered roads presented some hazardous road conditions yesterday even though the winter warning had been lifted.

Drivers are warned to still be on the lookout for black ice as temperatures will remain chilly.

Today strong winds are expected to cross the peninsula with some gusts reaching as high a 35 mph.

Meanwhile, in Delaware Governor Jack Markell said that transportation work crews were making good progress on the roads.

Around a 100 plows were out on the streets in Sussex county.

On the Eastern Shore of Virginia most residents stayed home.

Accomack County got up to 7 inches of snow – mostly in the northern part of the county.

In lower Northampton County the snow accumulation was 2 to 4 inches.
