Delmarva Nursing Homes Get Mixed Reviews

creative commons

The nursing home scores have dropped in the revised federal five-star quality ratings on a third of facilities on Delmarva.

But the facilities did distinguish themselves when it came to the average quality-of-care care.

Three nursing homes got the lowest rating on Delmarva.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports they are Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Acradia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Nelsonia.

The results showed up on the government’s Nursing Home Compare website and they include stricter standards.

The new standards include the use of anti-psychotic drugs on older adults – especially those with dementia.

The federal regulators are hoping the changes will improve care across the nations that include more than 15-thousand facilities.
