Delmarva: Good July 4th Despite Hurricane Arthur

creative commons

The July 4th weekend turned out pretty well for Delmarva despite the close call with Hurricane Arthur.

In Ocean City officials delayed the festivities and fireworks until July 5th.

But Jessica Water with the resort told the Salisbury Daily Times that it was still a good weekend.

Susan Jones, executive director of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association, told the paper that most of the hotels were booked solid for the weekend with only a few rooms left by July 3rd.

And there were few reported disruptions.

Police said there were a series of drug possession incidents as well as the expected traffic violations and some disorderly conduct.
