Last night many gathered at the Islamic Center of Delaware denouncing the president’s suspension of the refugee program and the travel ban from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Along with pastors, rabbis and imams Governor John Carney and Senator Chris Coons spoke out against the executive orders signed by President Trump.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn is looking into legal action to fight the order.

The paper reports that he called it “A betrayal of basic American values.”

Meanwhile Delaware’s other Senator Tom Carper stood with his Democratic colleagues on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court to denounce the ban.

The University of Delaware also issued a letter voicing deep concern about the impact of the executive order noting that it is causing significant disruption and hardship on some of its students, facility and others who hail from the seven countries facing the travel ban.

Those countries are Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.
