Delaware Turns Down Request for Voter Data

Don Rush

Delaware is turning down a request by the Presidential
Advisory Commission on Election Integrity to handover voter registration data.

The letter received by the Secretary of State Jeffery Bullock asked for such things as party affiliation and the last four digits of Social Security numbers.

State Election Commissioner Elaine Manlove said that providing that information to the White House would not serve the mission of safeguarding elections.

Manlove said that only names addresses and voter history are made available to the public.

But the Wilmington News Journal reports that Delaware Republican Party Chairman Michael Harrington said he thought the state should hand over the information.

He blamed “one-party rule” for refusing to provide the information adding he believed it gave the nation the image of a state run by the “Gestapo”.

Many Republican led states have also refused the request.
