Delaware State Senator George Bunting Not to Seek Reelection

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Sen. George Bunting has decided not to seek re-election.

The 67-year-old Democrat from Bethany Beach announced the decision on Tuesday. Bunting was elected to the Senate in 1996 after serving in the state House for 12 years.

Bunting received a kidney transplant in 2008, but says his health did not play into the decision.

Bunting says he has no plans to endorse a candidate to fill the seat he will vacate.
