Delaware Senators Hear From Constitutents About Trump Nominees

Delaware’s two Democratic senators have gotten an earful from constituents when it comes to President Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees.

Senator Chris Coons told the Wilmington News Journal that he has gotten dozens of calls in a day.

He said, “They have been ringing off the hooks in Dover and Wilmington and Washington."

Delaware’s senior Senator Tom Carper told the paper his constituents don’t want them to be timid in opposing some of Trump’s nominees.

According to Carper’s office it has received over 14-thousand contacts from Delawareans from inauguration day, January 20th, to February 14th.

The overwhelming number has been nearly 12-thousand emails while another 2-thousand were phone calls.

The rest included faxes and letters.

Carper’s office told the paper that his office says that by this time last year there were only around 25-hundred constituent calls.
