Delaware Recycling Company Shutdown

Mike Davidson Enterprises website

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware's environmental secretary has ordered the shutdown of a Kent County recycling facility for repeated violations of state regulations.

Thursday's order comes more than six months after regulators first took action to suspend a permit issued to Mike Davidson Enterprises in 2009.

Officials said the Camden-area facility has failed to address repeated environmental violations regarding the processing and storage of construction and demolition waste and shown a "wholesale disregard" of state regulations and ignored a cease-and-desist order.

Officials said the suspension of the facility's permit is in effect until it demonstrates compliance.
