A Delaware commercial lab has been closed.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that it is one of potentially nine facilities that may have gotten live anthrax spores from the U.S. Department of Defense.

The paper reports that state and federal officials refused to identify the facility.

The announcement follows the Defense Department’s revelation that it sent out at least one and perhaps has many as nine shipments to facilities nationwide.

A spokesman for the Centers for Disease Control has said that it does not believe there is any risk to the public.

Delaware Division of Public Health spokeswoman Emily Knearl says on Saturday, the owner was contacted and instructed to close until further notice.

Knearl says no public announcement about the shipment was released before Wednesday because the CDC determined there is no public health risk.
