Delaware Republicans want the Attorney General Beau Biden to provide the details of a more than two-year independent investigation into campaign finance violations.
The probe by special prosecutor E. Norman Veasey found improper campaign contributions to Governor Jack Markell in 2008.
In addition, the investigation found violations by three state lawmakers for failing to report getting gifts of more than $250 as required by law.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that Copeland called the report underwhelming pointing out that no public official was prosecuted for wrongdoing.
Veasey defended the report as of significant value exposing widespread wrongdoing with recommended policy changes.
The former chief of the state Supreme Court was charged with carrying out his investigation after liquor executive Christopher Tigani pleaded guilty to federal campaign finance charges involving a contribution reimbursement scheme.
Biden recused himself from the state investigation into illegal campaign practices noting that he had gotten contributions from Tigani.
