Delaware AG Vows to Fight Drug Addiction

Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn says he has made it the mission of his office to fight drug addiction.

But he adds it not just about locking people up.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Denn notes around two-thirds of the state’s cases in Sussex County are caused by heroin.

The state’s chief law enforcement officer says he will be part of Monday night’s forum on the costs of heroin addiction in Delaware to be held at John Dickinson High School.

Denn has called for providing $4 million dollars in one time funds for expand treatment facilities for residential and outpatient treatment.

He also wants to expand the availability of the overdose fighting drug Naloxone as well evaluate involuntary treatment for drug addiction if recommended by law enforcement.
