Delaware Acquires 750 Acres For Preservation Near Bower's Beach

DNR

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control yesterday marked the acquisition of 750 acres of land into the Ted Harvey Conservation Area.

The Vance Morris Tract near Bowers Beach is known for its extensive bird and fish habitat.

WBOC reports that there will be specific areas that will be open during the public hunting season.

Senator Chris Coons spoke at the ceremony saying that it was essential to create a much larger parcel for preservation.

It’s just one of three land tracts spread out over 3-thousand acres by the
Delaware Bay.
