ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Del. Don Dwyer, a Pasadena Republican who is serving a 60-day jail sentence on weekends for drunken boating, has filed for re-election.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that Dwyer filed to run for re-election to a fourth term on Wednesday.
Last month, House Speaker Michael Busch removed Dwyer the Ways and Means Committee.
Seven people were injured in August 2012 when Dwyer's boat collided with another vessel on the Magothy River. Dwyer's blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit. He was charged with DWI a year later, after police say an officer spotted him driving erratically.
Dwyer's jail sentence did not trigger automatic expulsion rules, because the charges against him are misdemeanors that do not directly involve his work as a lawmaker.
