There were just over 2-thousand serious crime committed in Salisbury last year.
They range from homicide and rape to burglary and arson.
That continues the general decline since 2009.
But Police Chief Barbara Duncan said that she wants to get serious crimes under the 2-thousand mark.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that she noted the city did not experience a homicide in 2013 and 2014.
That was a first in two decades.
Last year there were four homicides.
Rape went up from 14 in 2014 to 22 last year after the definition was expanded three years ago.
And robberies went up by about 47 percent from the year before.
