Cost of Delaware Transportation Projects Up

creative commons

Delaware Transportation officials are finding the cost of road construction going up.

That’s according to the Wilmington News Journal.

The paper reports that with a flood of new projects only a few construction companies are bidding on them.

One case is a contract for U.S. Route 301 tollway where Greggo and Ferrara bid on a toll collection facility.

It would connect the Maryland Eastern Shore with Delaware Route 1.

The paper reports that the company bid was $7.9 million for a contact that the state engineer said would cost $4.5 million.

The company was the only bidder on the project.
