Cooling Stations Open Up on Delmarva

With the temperatures heading up towards the 100 mark Worcester County has opened cooling centers for those trying to escape the heat.

The Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill will be open along with the five county libraries.

The Center will be open through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In addition, for those over the age of 55 can get relief at the Worcester County Senior Centers in Ocean City, Berlin, Snow Hill and Pocomoke City.

In Wicomico County the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center will also be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning today.

Residents are advised to bring their own food, beverages and medications.

Also the MAC Center will be open for those over the age of 55.

In Sussex County the three libraries in Greenwood, Milton and the South Coastal branch in Bethany Beach will be open as cooling stations.

In addition the County Administration office will also be open for those seeking to beat the heat.

They will be providing bottled water with paramedics checking from time to time.
