Congressman Andy Harris Blasts Democrats at GOP Convention

official photo

Congressman Andy Harris sharply attacked state and national Democrats yesterday during an appearance before Maryland’s delegation at the Republican National Convention.

The Eastern Shore Republican charged they have been obstructionist and too dependent on raising tax revenue to close their deficits.

Echoing the first President George Bush he told the delegates that the first thing the GOP did when it took control of the House was to pledge “No new Taxes”.

Harris also called the budget plan laid out by the party’s vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan the Republican plan to begin negotiations.

He also defended the Republican controlled House against the do-nothing charge by Democrats saying that his GOP colleagues spent 18 months sending bills to the Senate where they died.

The Senate he added is the problem.

The Republican faces Democrat Wendy Rosen during his first re-election bid.
