Congestion Ahead in Dover and Newark Areas

Expect Delays, 123rf.com

If you plan on driving through the Dover and Newark areas expect some congestion with road and lane restrictions on Saturday.

From 7:30 am through noon on US Route 13 there will be the Monster Mash Marathon and Half Marathon which is expected to disrupt traffic in Downtown Dover and Little Creek.

Meanwhile, the homecoming parade on Loockerman Street could produce lane restrictions and delays beginning as early at 10 am for Delaware State University.

The parade will be followed by a football game at Alumni Stadium at 1:30 pm when the main entrance to the university will be closed.

The Wilmington News Journal also reports motorists should expect traffic delays around the University of Delaware beginning at 9 am.

There will be a lane closure on northbound Delaware Route 896 that will allow traffic come in freely from southbound I-95.

That football game is set for 3:30 pm at Delaware Stadium.
