Clean Up in Camden After Tornado

Cleaning crews and insurance adjusters were out yesterday to deal with the aftermath a small tornado that struck the Camden development in Delaware Monday afternoon.  

The National Weather Service has confirmed there was a tornado carrying 85-mile-per-hour winds.

While it was the lowest rated tornado but left behind 215 yards of damage and 35 yards wide.

The Wilmington News Journal reports the tornado touched down near Dawson lane in the Barclay Farms subdivision.

Six homes suffered serious structural damage and were declared uninhabitable.

Firefighters from Camden-Wyoming and other local companies were on the scene through Monday night cleaning up debris and covering windows and damage to roofs.

The National Weather Service expects showers and some thunderstorms through tomorrow.
