Salisbury Maryland – The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that over 2 million children in the United States have attention deficit hyperactivity syndrome. In a classroom of 25 children, at least one or two of those children will have ADHD.

Although there is no shortage of books about ADHD, not many are written from the child's perspective. Popular children's author Jack Gantos has written a series of such books, one of which, "Joey Pigza Loses Control" won him a Newbery award. I had a chance to talk to Jack Gantos about his books and his upcoming visit to the local public library.
---
Jack Gantos will be visiting the Wicomico Main Public Library in Salisbury on May 20th. He'll be speaking at 10AM with younger school children and 7PM with older children, parents and educators. He'll also be at the Talbot County Library in Easton on May 21st (same times). The program is free and the public is invited to attend.
