Cardin: Narrow Bill on Iranian Nuclear Deal

official photo

Senator Ben Cardin says he is smoothing out the rough edges in the legislation that would allow Congress to reject a nuclear arms deal with Iran.

During an interview with the Salisbury Daily Times the Maryland Democrat said he wants to ensure that the bill is not aimed at directly impacting the substance of the agreements being negotiated.

The measure authored by Tennessee Republican Bob Corker, who chairs the Foreign Relations Committee would provide the Congress 60 days to approve, reject or take no action on the agreement.

In addition, the administration would be prohibited from lifting any sanctions on Iran during that 2 month period.
