The captain and winning angler in the White Marlin Open say they did nothing wrong.

Philip Heasley owner of the Kallianasssa told the Salisbury Daily Times that the angler and his crew maintained the highest levels of integrity.

Initially tournament officials initially ruled Heasley’s 76.5 pound white marlin winner.

But then they announced that there may have been violations of the tournament rules and withheld the $2.8 million prize.

It is not clear what rule was broken.

The Daily Times reports that anyone winning a prize of $50-thousand or more can be required to take a polygraph test.
