Ocean City buses and vans could soon have cameras – around 400 of them all told if the town council agrees.
WBOC reports that there is a federal grant for the cameras and that Maryland Transportation Authority has said it will help with the financing.
The feds would cough up $400-thousand while the state and resort would add another $50-thousand.
The resort’s Transportation Committee has said that the cost is reasonable given the safety and insurance considerations.
Officials say the cameras would help prevent vandalism and other illegal activity.
