Cambridge Mural Celebrates African American Heritage

Visit Dorchester

There’s a new mural off of Route 50 in Cambridge that celebrates the city’s African American heritage.

The mural comes just a week before the 50th anniversary of the Cambridge riots during the civil rights era.

WBOC reports that the 48-foot wide mural includes prominent faces ranging from Harriet Tubman to Ella Fitzgerald.

The television station says that it took the artist Michael Rosato some 400 hours and six weeks to finish the mural.

The Dorchester County Tourism officials say the land in front of the mural may developed into a park.
