Delaware political figures buried the hatchet yesterday at least for a moment.

It’s called Return Day where Republicans and Democrats gathered in Georgetown.

The outgoing Governor Jack Markell declared that the campaign is over and now it’s time to govern.

The Delaware Democrat added that, “The people have no patience for partisan fights.”

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Georgetown Mayor Bill West added it time that “We stop all the political nonsense and become one.”

But the paper reports that a procession of Donald Trump supporters got big cheers as they marched behind a large campaign sign.

The state’s top political leaders including the Delaware congressional delegation were also scheduled to attend.
