Cabela Outdoors Store Comes to Christiana Mall

Christiana Mall, twitter.com

By 2014 the Christiana Mall is expected to see the trademark log-and-stone edifice of a Cabela store.

Construction is set to begin next year on the 110-thousand square-foot store -- the first Delaware location for the company.

It is expected to become a mecca for hunters, anglers and other lovers of outdoor activities.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that gun shops and other outdoors outfitters have been relatively sparse in the First State.

The introduction of the store is seen as part of Christiana Mall’s effort to remake its image as a more upscale destination to compete with big-box centers and discount retailers.
