Bloom Energy Officially Opens Factory in Delaware

Bloom Energy website

Bloom Energy formally opened its Delaware factory in Newark.

Company and state leaders called it a starting point for the next generation of manufacturing in the state that has seen its old factories disappear.

Bloom CEO K R Sridhar noted that traditional manufacturing jobs that make cars or steel are disappearing.

The Wilmington News Journal reports this was an apparent referent to the recent announcement that the EVRAZ steel million in Claymont will be closed.

Bloom makes solid-oxide fuel cell servers that produce electricity through natural gas using an electrochemical reaction.

Governor Jack Markell said that Bloom is an opportunity to build a new face of manufacturing in Delaware.

During the opening, it was announced that Bloom servers will be used at facilities owned by JPMorgan Chase and Wal-Mart.
