Big Spending in Delaware's 6th District Campaign

Money is pouring into Delaware’s new 6th district in the state Senate.

The two party candidates Democrat Andy Staton and Republican Ernie Lopez have spent $140-thosuand into the campaign to represent a district that includes cities ranging from Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach to Lewes and Milton.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that both have cash on hand after raising nearly $250-thousand from at least 641 individual donors and 20 political action committees.

Staton is the best funded candidate picking up $155-thousand with $81-thousand on hand.

Also on the ballot in the 6th district is Libertarian candidate Gwendolyn Jones.
