The Maryland State Highway Administration will not be able to pre-treat roads until the rain turns to snow this evening.

More that 60 crews are standing by for the Lower Shore.

In addition there is more than 30,000 tons of salt to treat the roads.

WBOC reports that Salisbury has more than 2,000 tons.

Delaware

Meanwhile, there's a winter weather advisory from noon today through 3 p.m. Tuesday with as much as 3 to 5 inches of snow expected to hit lower Delaware.

In Delaware trucks were on the roads yesterday pre-treating the highways with brine.

In addition, a coastal flood warning has been issued for Sussex County between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Virginia

In Accomack County, officials issued a winter weather advisory for snow from 10 p.m. to noon on Tuesday with 1 to 2 inches of snow overnight.

Snow is likely to hit the county after 1 a.m.

Strong winds of 15 to 20 mph. are also expect to sweep across the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean with some gust of up to 30 mph.
