Some 5-thousand to 6-thousand walkers showed up for around 400 runners yesterday afternoon in Wilmington.

The 5K run raised around $430-thousand.

The event was called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Event manager Lindsay Freeman told the Wilmington News Journal it was not so much about the number of people who showed up but the truly passionate faces of the people who participate.
