BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore Gas and Electric says residential customers can get $25 in exchange for turning in old air conditioners and dehumidifiers at an event in Maryland.

Baltimore Gas and Electric says it will hold the event Saturday at the Columbia Athletic Club located at 5435 Beaverkill Road in Columbia. The company says customers can turn in working air conditioners and dehumidifiers and will get a $25 check in the mail approximately four weeks after the event. The company says old units are less energy efficient than newer models so customers that are upgrading may also save on energy cost.

Saturday's event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

BGE also gives customers $50 for recycling old working refrigerators and freezers. Customers can call BGE to haul away those appliances.
