Berlin Officials Seek Dismissal of Suit in Harassment Case

Berlin Fire Company, berlinfire.com

The Berlin Mayor and Town Council filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Norris Phillip Donohoe the former Berlin Fire company paramedic who claims that he was wrongfully dismissed.

The case involves the decision by Berlin officials to cut $600,000 in funds for the Berlin Fire Company after the agency failed to deal with allegation of discrimination and harassment in the department.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that even though Donohoe was dismissed after the complaints and the fire company volunteer went through anti-harassment training, town officials say they were still receiving complaints as late as early August.

Donohoe says he never received any infractions for disciplinary actions during his 23 years with the department before his dismissal this spring.
